The Ohio Library Support Staff Institute (OLSSI) consists of volunteers from Ohio libraries, including school, special, public, government, and academic libraries. This Steering Committee organizes an annual, residential, multi-day conference for library support staff, specifically targeting their needs and issues.
Library support staff are the backbone of our libraries. They deserve the opportunity to learn new skills, to hone existing skills, and to meet and network with colleagues. OLSSI provides that opportunity, helping support staff stay respected, trained, informed, and responsible in the performance of their jobs.
Each year’s OLSSI gathering takes place in a short retreat away from the workplace in an educational and entertaining environment. By providing continuing education opportunities for library support staff, OLSSI aspires to revitalize their enthusiasm for library work to make our libraries and ourselves better than ever!
